Origins & History of the O'Rafferty Clan
The historic Irish surname O’Rafferty derives from the Gaelic Ó Rabhartaigh, traditionally translated as “Full Tide or Prosperous”. Rooted deeply within the ancestral province of Ulster, particularly the territories of County Donegal, the clan maintained a revered status among the hereditary dynasties of ancient Ireland.
