Origins & History of the O'Molloy Clan
The historic Irish surname O’Molloy derives from the Gaelic Ó Maolmhuaidh, traditionally translated as “Noble and Steadfast Chieftain”. Rooted deeply within the ancestral province of Leinster, particularly the territories of County Offaly, the clan maintained a revered status among the hereditary dynasties of ancient Ireland.
