Origins & History of the O'Hennessy Clan
The historic Irish surname O’Hennessy derives from the Gaelic Ó hAonghusa, traditionally translated as “One Strength or Unique Force”. Rooted deeply within the ancestral province of Munster, particularly the territories of County Cork, the clan maintained a revered status among the hereditary dynasties of ancient Ireland.
