Origins & History of the O'Hale Clan
The historic Irish surname O’Hale derives from the Gaelic Mac Héil, traditionally translated as “Son of Howell (Celtic Chieftain)”. Rooted deeply within the ancestral province of Connacht, particularly the territories of County Mayo, the clan maintained a revered status among the hereditary dynasties of ancient Ireland.
