Origins & History of the McSorley Clan
The historic Irish surname McSorley derives from the Gaelic Mac Somhairle, traditionally translated as “Summer Wanderer (Viking)”. Rooted deeply within the ancestral province of Ulster, particularly the territories of County Tyrone, the clan maintained a revered status among the hereditary dynasties of ancient Ireland.
