Origins & History of the Barry Clan
The historic Irish surname Barry derives from the Gaelic de Barra, traditionally translated as “Spear or Fair-headed”. Rooted deeply within the ancestral province of Munster, particularly the territories of County Cork, the clan maintained a revered status among the hereditary dynasties of ancient Ireland.
