Munster Province
Munster is Ireland’s southernmost province, encompassing the counties of Cork, Kerry, Clare, Limerick, Tipperary, and Waterford. Dominated in ancient times by the royal Eóganacht and Dál gCais dynasties (including High King Brian Boru), Munster was the epicenter of the Great Famine transatlantic exodus. Millions of emigrants departed through Cork Harbour (Cobh), creating dense communities in Boston, New York, and Chicago.
